1、 Overview

The molecular formula is Na2S and the molecular weight is 78.04.

Properties: sodium sulfide is a reddish brown sheet or block solid with odor. The specific gravity of anhydrous sodium sulfide is 1.856 (14 ℃), and the melting point is 1180 ℃. Industrial products are mixtures with different crystal water and impurities. They are flake reddish brown solid with specific gravity of 1.427 (16 ℃) and melting point of 50 ℃; Easily deliquescent, corrosive and toxic! It is easy to oxidize in the air, has strong hygroscopicity, is easy to dissolve in water, and the aqueous solution is strongly alkaline. In case of acid, it will produce toxic and flammable hydrogen sulfide gas.

IIPurpose:

Sodium sulfide is used as the main raw material of sulfide dyes in the dye industry. It is also widely used in printing and dyeing, leather, papermaking and chemical industries. Electroplating and printed circuit board industries are used to precipitate heavy metals in wastewater.
